About me
Vandal is more than a brand: it's an ethos, an attitude, a feeling. It's also an individual.
It's me lol I'm Vandal.
My brand really shifted gears when Halloween 2023 came around. I was attending a party and wanted to impress the masses, so I did what I do best: I made myself a clown hat. I rummaged Pinterest for inspiration but I wasn't satisfied. I noticed these three yarn colors next to each other on my shelf, three colors that couldn't look worse together: a shiny beige, a gutty brown and a pink so bright it could be seen from space. Bingo. An ugly clown was born on Halloween night. That's when I knew I had to dedicate my life to the craft.
Sustainability
I try to use recycled or preloved materials whenever I can, but alas, I am imperfect. Here are some small gestures I make to be more eco-conscious:
- ±60% of my yarns are thrifted, donated or purchased on Facebook Marketplace.
- All my 3D elements (clown horns, devil horns, keychains etc) are 100% filled with yarn/fabric scraps or old pillow filling. I do not buy polyfill.
- Some of my packaging is recycled and/or recyclable.
- My boxes are Amazon boxes I flip inside out.
